What is Mixed Martial Arts?
MMA is a full-contact combat sport where fighters use striking, wrestling and ground fighting from multiple martial arts in a single contest. A fight can begin with a kickboxing exchange, move through a wrestling takedown and end with a BJJ submission — all in one round. It is the closest thing to a complete, unrestricted fighting system in modern sport.
At Om's, we don't teach three separate arts — we teach one integrated system. Every session connects the phases, because the most important skill in MMA is the transition: punch → level change → takedown → position → submission.
Striking Range
Punches, kicks, knees & elbows with takedown-aware footwork.
Clinch & Wrestling
Takedowns, takedown defense, clinch control & cage wrestling.
Ground Game
Positions, submissions, escapes & ground-and-pound.
The Fighter's Code
Taekwondo has its tenets. MMA has its own code — earned on the mat, lived outside it. Every student at Om's trains by these five.
Discipline
Show up. Do the rounds. Finish the workout. Motivation fades; discipline carries you.
Respect
Touch gloves, protect your partners, tap early and often. Your training partner is your teammate.
Humility
You will be submitted and out-struck. Ego is left at the door — you are always a student.
Resilience
Calm under pressure. The ability to keep thinking when someone is trying to choke you.
Evolution
Styles don't matter — effectiveness does. Keep learning, keep adapting, keep growing.
"Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own."— Bruce Lee, the philosophy that shaped modern MMA

How it works →Why People Train MMA
You don't need to be a fighter to train like one. Here's what consistent training does for body and mind.
700–1,000+ Calories / Session
The most complete workout in martial arts — every muscle group, every energy system, in 90 minutes.
Self-Defence at Every Range
Standing strikes, clinch, takedown defense and ground survival — answers where single styles have none.
"Physical Chess"
Think, adapt and execute under pressure. Calmness under stress that transfers to work and life.
Humility & Ego Control
You'll be submitted and out-struck regularly — and learn that you're always a student. Ego resilience for life.
Confidence That's Real
Knowing you can handle yourself physically changes how you carry yourself everywhere else.
A Community That Shows Up
Training partners who hold pads, tap you out and teach you the escape. Shared work builds real friendship.

Fact: The Unified Rules list 30+ fouls, weight classes, rounds, judges, medicals and anti-doping — the most comprehensive rule set in combat sport.
Fact: Supervised amateur MMA has a lower injury rate than amateur boxing, rugby and football. Beginners don't spar for 6–8 weeks; all sparring uses full gear.
Fact: ~70% of our MMA students never compete. They train for fitness, self-defence and personal growth. Competition is optional, always.
