I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately on the “secret” to growing a business, and honestly? It’s rarely the big, splashy stuff we see in highlight reels.
Most of the time, the real progress happens in the messy, unglamorous middle.
If I could give my younger self three pieces of advice, they would be these:
1. **Done is better than perfect.** You can’t optimize a process that doesn’t exist yet. Put the work out there, get feedback, and adjust as you go.
2. **Focus on the “one thing.”** It’s so easy to get distracted by every new app, strategy, or trend. Pick one core goal for the quarter and ignore the noise until it’s finished.
3. **Rest is part of the work.** I used to think burning the candle at both ends was a badge of honor. Now I realize that burnout is the fastest way to kill creativity. You’re the biggest asset in your business—don’t forget to take care of yourself.
